Letters From Brno
LETTERS FROM BRNO tells the powerful story of parental love and unspeakable sacrifice during the Holocaust. In an expansive 45 year search for clues to her mother’s hidden past, a daughter uncovers the tragic fate of her grandparents through their letters written during the brutal Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia.
The film uses interviews along with archival footage, photographs, documents, reenactments and letters from grandparents, Armin and Herta Turkl, during the years 1939 to 1941. The letters are heart wrenching, eyewitness accounts of putting their beloved children, Erika and Daisy Turkl on a kindertransport from Prague to England and their desperate attempts at escaping Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia during those three tragic years.
